Despite all the snow in the last few days, its becoming pretty obvious Spring is just around the corner. The most recent sign: espn.com launched their 2010 fantasy baseball product today. While I play fantasy football, and even wrote about one of my drafts in the fall, I’m definitely a much bigger fan of fantasy baseball, and want to try to get an NL-only keeper league going. I’ve set the league up on espn.com and all are welcom to join.
If you want an invite, you need to contact me with your email address in one of the 3 following ways.
- Send me a message or DM me on twitter(@shsteimer)
- leave a comment on this post.
- Email me – sean [at] buccofever [dot] com. If you go the email route, make sure you make the subject line something obvious, and if I don’t respond within a couple of days, there’s a good chance it got caught in my spam filter, so options 1 and 2 are preferred here.
Below is an excerpt from the note I posted to the league home describing the roster and scoring settings. As it indicates, I’m flexible about the set-up and willing to change just about anything, so long as you can convince me the changes you want will make for a better league.
I’ve kept roster settings for the most part standard, aside from mandating one of the 5 out fielders be a CF, and increasing the bench spots from 3 to 5.
For scoring I’ve made a few changes. OBP replaces average, Net SB (SB-CS) replaces SB, K/BB ratio replaces K, and SV+HD replaces straight saves, to give more value to set-up men.
If anyone is interested in joining but doesn’t like any of these settings, let me know and if you can convince me what you want is the right way to go, I’ll make changes.
The live draft is scheduled for the last Sunday in March, the 28th at 8 pm.
